Day 4 - your favorite book

Who came up with these questions??
If you remember my post A Saturday Surprise, you'll recall this photo.
behind me there, that's my library.
Those are all my favorite books, that I read fell in love with and decided to buy.

I also go to the library at least once every other week and return with at least 2 books - how could I choose a favorite?
Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
alright, let's try this out..
I love love love Anne Rice books - back when vampires were not yet sparkly and could walk in the sun (See twilight), and before she went all Christian and stopped writing about anyone but Jesus (Her books are on the bottom right near my hip there).
For light reading I loved the Shopaholic series (it's on the top shelf there in the middle).
I also love reading true crime books, as well as history and biographical novels.
Bronte Sisters are a classic to me, and I believe I read everything by them.
And finally, in Hebrew I love authors like Irit Linur(עירית לינור), and Oren Ram (רם אורן).

Day 1 - your favorite song

As a child from a musical home this is a very hard one to answer.
I have so many favorites..
So here is my list of ones I love love love, and it's a list, not just one..deal with it!
1) Our First Dance Song
So many meaning to it I can't even start to go over them all, but it's wonderful, and makes your heart melt.
Even my hubby who is not much into dancing and romantic songs chose this as his #1 for our first dance.

2) The first song I learned to play on my dad's Acoustic Guitar

3) A Song that brings tears to my eyes, and I just can't explain it - but I love it.

4) A song from my childhood

5) Loved this song for it's video :)

There are so many more, but this is my personal "classics" list.
Hope you enjoyed it all

Toronto's Nuit Blanche - 2010

On October 2nd, Toronto celebrated its' 5th Nuit Blanche.
In my opinion - a better one then previous years.
I got to go with my friends T & I and I's pretty sister S (It was a pleasure to meet her finally after hearing so much about her over the years).
We got off at King subway Station.
On our way to our first exhibition we encountered these slightly
frightening clown heads stuck between the buildings
EndGame by Max Streicher

We first visited Zone B - at the Distillery District.
We came to see this presentation.
A reproduction of Michelangelo's "The hand of God"
Created by Cubeworks, this was done with over 12 thousand Rubik Cubes.
This is now a Guiness World Record.
Light Statue / installation
We then returned to Mid town, on our way to Zone A.
This Doily car was in front of The Bay. It was mesmerizing.
The new Cashmere dresses are on display (these are made of paper!)
Still on the way to Zone A, we encountered this happy gentleman, who orchestrated a show - all on his own.

We finally arrived to Zone A, walked around, and arrived at the longest line to the Royal Ontario Museum.
Like sheep, we stood in the line without knowing what we were waiting for.
We waited for about 20 minutes before being let inside.

When we arrived inside, we realized that we were not going to see whatever it was we were all waiting for (I asked someone, it was some wood art installation, and not very exciting.

See the line-up behind us? This was waiting for us inside the museum
All in all, the night was fun and adventurous.
I am pretty sure we will be doing this again next year.

My New York

As always, my job requires me to do some traveling - which also gives me the great opportunity to spend a tiny little bit of my trips on some leisure.
This September I visited New York City.
Rockefeller Center from the street floor on 5th Avenue

Church at 5th Avenue

The Glamour of 5th Avenue

The Real reason of my visit

French Onion Soup At Balthazar's

During that crazy storm, stranded 2 meters from the Subway,
right before the hail started.

All the photos in the world could not summarize NYC as much as this one does

Why are there Fallout Shelters in Brooklyn?

I'll see you again soon

CNE 2010

As I am catching up on my summer posts, it's time to get to my September activities.
CNE is a fun exhibition with many rides, junk food options, shopping, and fun little displays.
This year I got to go there twice.
My first was to say goodbye to my friend Man-Yi who has left me to go to an exciting chapter in her life to Korea. She is there now, bringing English to kids and green caterpillars. Her goodbye party was at the CNE.
My second visit was with my usual T & N crew with R & E added.

A flower Contest at the CNE
I love this flower. Love Love Love, but don't know what it's called...
The CNE is known for its' air show
I absolutely enjoyed it
I am a motion sickness master.
This caused me motion sickness from watching..LOL
They looked like birds flying away for the winter
We later went to the petting zoo
Oh you are so cute!!!
She sleeps like my cat :)
N was ready to pet the bees, I was looking for the honey
Nighttime at the CNE
There's something magical about an amusement park at night
